Hello Bryan,

Thanks so much for your time at the SOHO seminar last night. You’ve opened my eyes to an entirely different view of social networking.

Good morning, Bryan,

I got your name from the comment section of Ryan Diess’ blog on local business development and, having gone through your initial vid on your Generosity Marketing outline. I believe we may be able to use your input/competency in an upcoming project. (Not to sound too ‘old guy’ on you, but your putting your family as a priority (which I love) was my quest way back in the mid 1970s. Back then (BI–Before Internet) I was accused of having printer’s ink in my viens as I worked with marketers of professional services to associations in helping them set up publishing marks to other associations. I did too much travel when my family was small and trust you will be wiser than I.)

As a further backgrounder, my friend (a ‘recovering’ attorney) and I established the National Association of Business Coaches in 1996–about a year after the International Coach Federation launched–and sold it in 2002. I am not a techie but have friends who are and take pity on me.

My opportunity that may be yours as well: A good friend of mine suddenly closed his 21-year old regional business journal in order to retire and shelving his 15,000-business list–without telling me! (Gasp!) (He said he thought I was fully retired and wouldn’t be interested.) I believe Ryan Diess’ idea (lots of others have the same one) can be particularly fruitful for a number of players–local and across the US. I’m trying to develop a package that several graphics and marketing folks can take to our regional businesses that can include autoresponder, ad copy and whatever branding stuff is needed with their links. I am looking at a blog template called Your Instant Site and others. But am still looking. My talent, such as it is, is packaging.

Do you have anything that smacks as such a package, Bryan? I will be happy to give royalties, too (I’m used to writing royalty checks, too), but just would rather find a turn-key situation that we can tweak rather than building it up from scratch. What is your core specialty? I am a big proponent of business coaching (obviously) and have a real heart for small businesses. (I was even with the SCORE folks for years until I couldn’t stomach the government oversight from the SBA).I just love to develop biz for others–don’t know why–but as a Jesus follower, it’s just the way I am wired.
Maybe that’s why I was attracted to your ‘Generosity Marketing’ brand! Anyway, I really appreciate any help you can give us–including whatever core competencies you would like us to include for our small biz market. I would have written via e-mail but I didn’t find your address immediately and we are in a hurry-up ‘developing’ mode.

Best regards,
Steve
